Personal
Birthing Experience
The personal birth experience I chose was of my 5
year old daughter. My wife was given a due date of July 26, 2007, but on June
28, 2007 her water broke and we found ourselves in labor. I was in disbelief
because it seemed to be so very early for the baby to be coming. I was
concerned for the health of my wife and our unborn child. After arriving at the
hospital the labor process progressed very quickly, with just a few issues. In
a matter of 8 hours we were pushing and that was when the problem arose. My wife
was unable to deliver our daughter vaginally and was taken for an emergency C-section.
Within an hour our daughter was born, healthy and beautiful and my wife had minimal
complications with the surgery.
I chose this experience because it happens during
child birth every day. There are always unexpected occurrences and changes that
take place and both the patient and physician must be ready for the unexpected.
I feel that a child’s birth and/or complications
with their birth can play a role in their development.
Birth
Experiences in Canada
To answer this question, I chose the country of
Canada. I was pleased to learn that the birthing procedures in Canada are very similar
to those in the United States. Women are afford and take advantage of prenatal
care and birthing options.
Eric,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that everything turned out well for your wife and daughter despite complications. It can be scary when things don't happen the way we expect them to. During my delivery there were some complications and the doctor mentioned a possible emergency c-section. This was scary for me as this was not a part of my plan. Fortunately, it wasn't necessary. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the patients and doctors should always be prepared for the unexpected!
I agree Eric, we must be prepared for the unexpected especially,at childbirth.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to hear you were able to experience this with your wife. I am glad that Canadian women can afford health care. My inability to pay for prenatal services here in the US affected my child's development long term.
